Glorious gradients.....

Don't you just love a good gradient yarn?
There's something about watching the colours change as you create.
Is it just me, or does it spur you on to "just get to the next colour"?

Scheepjes make the best gradient yarns I think.
Who doesn't love Whirl?
There's a whole family of Whirls now...

Woolly Whirl, Whirlettes, Whirligig, Frosted Whirl and now.....
Whirl - Fine Art

Named after different art movements, this gradient yarn is made from the same fibre as Merino Soft and is available in 12 colour ways. It's a 50% Superfine Merino (19 micron), 25% microfibre and 25% acrylic blend. Each cake weighs between 215 - 225 grams and there is 460m. Recommended hook/needle size is 4.00 - 5.00mm and is classified as a DK weight. Machine washable at 30 degrees, it works well with Merino soft which means you can add in more colour without stressing about yarn weights etc.

This is colour number 653 - Fauvism

I love green. This colour way has a very subtle soft minty green on the outside which gradiates to a deep strong green in the centre.

I can't wait to start working with this!

Join me next week to see what I'm making..... hint...... it's not crochet!

Til next time x
